Karma Yoga
Karma Kitchen Karma Kitchen was inspired by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, known as Amma, one of the most outstanding humanitarian and spiritual leaders of our time. Among other spiritual activities and humanitarian projects she has inspired and guided 38 Mother’s Kitchen projects throughout the U.S. As of today Mother’s Kitchen serves 72,000 free meals every year.
Karma Kitchen, spearheaded by Vandana Dillon of Awaken Yoga Center and led by trained chef and yoga student Peter Ney, is the third Friday of the month from 4:00 - 8:00pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of St Petersburg, we will prepare different dishes to serve at the 7:00pm Community Picnic (for the homeless and anyone who wants to eat). Participation is free and we are encouraging participants to bring their children. We would like to get more children involved to teach them about love and service. You will be asked to bring 2-3 ingredients for the recipes we are making,. Monetary donations for ingredients are graciously accepted, as well as any pantry items for future Karma Kitchens. It is not necessary to contribute financially to participate.
